Zari

Zari tells the story of a young woman, Nina — born into wealth, but robbed of her birthright by those she trusts. After a tragic and mysterious incident involving the powerful patriarch Mzee Balozi, Nina’s inheritance and identity are concealed from her. Instead of being raised in comfort, she grows up away from her rightful family, while another girl — Lola — is presented to the world as Nina, assuming her place and privileges.

As secrets unravel, the show becomes a tangled web of lies, betrayal, greed, and hidden ambitions. Nina — unaware of her true origins — must navigate a world built on deceit and falsehood. Meanwhile, the people who stole her identity must go to great lengths to maintain their lies, including crime, manipulation, and concealment of dark past deeds.

Through love, conflict, and shocking revelations, Zari explores themes of identity, justice, inheritance, and the lengths people will go to in order to preserve power and wealth. It’s a modern-day “Cinderella” story, but twisted by secrets, envy, and dangerous conspiracies.
